City of Roses is currently seeking a Controller.

The Controller will analyze financial information, prepare and present financial reports, and maintain fiscal stability of the organization using informed technical knowledge and skill in accounting and financial analytics.

DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • Determine and maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.
  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close, reporting on discrepancies in financial records.
  • Collaborates with the Owners and CEO to support overall department goals, objectives and fiscal integrity of programs and provides informed guidance in full range of financial and budgetary matters effecting the organization.
  • Review monthly financial statements and related management reporting to effectively evaluate degree of financial risks (business and enterprise) and highlight critical issues, trends, and opportunities.
  • Devise, implement and manage policies and procedures to ensure internal controls; to meet the business planning needs and quarterly updates for organization, including forecasting of financial results and effectiveness in providing financial services.
  • Prepare special reports as needed for the CEO, Owners for use in decision making processes relating to new or altered programs and services.
 
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH THESE QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Must have at least five years of accounting experience, including financial reporting, general ledger, and budgeting expertise.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Must have at least one year experience at the management or strategic level.
  • High to Advanced proficiency in Quickbooks strongly preferred.
  • Ability to analyze and advise on a wide range of complex financial data, including developing reliable worst-case/best-case planning scenarios to guide leaders in short and long-range organizational planning is required.
  • High proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software and systems with the ability to develop and present precise and easily understood financial reports is required.
