POSITION OVERVIEW
The Commercial Sales & Estimator is expected to be knowledgeable in specialized commercial and residential door products and services, their target market and is responsible for contributing to profitable revenue growth by leveraging opportunities with existing customers, expanding customer base through business to business sales and activities, as well as, consistently delivering superior customer service. The Commercial Sales & Estimator is expected to contribute to operational excellence through accurate and timely creation of quotes, coordination and communication with team members and clients, tracking of sales data, and account management activities. Commercial Sales & Estimators also achieve operational results through own-efforts and use of other staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Travel to customer and client locations to present company products, services, and pricing information based on client needs
  • Educate customers and clients by responding to inquiries regarding products, services, pricing, scheduling, etc.
  • Perform estimates for commercial and residential work through ongoing job site visits, determining current or follow up work when needed
  • Consult with clients prior to, during and after work orders to resolve problems and provide ongoing support.
  • Obtain leads through various forms of sales platforms and methods (ie. cold calling, internet leads, prospecting, etc.)
  • Continuously expand industry network to identify and establish contact with potential new clients
  • Achieve revenue growth objectives by consistently conducting business development activities to maintain sufficient pipeline of opportunities and work orders
  • Respond to customer inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Generate accurate quotes and proposals in a timely manner that is consistent with company pricing, profitability, scheduling and payment terms
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction and organizational effectiveness by consistently documenting and tracking sales and customer service activities
  • Maintain current and working knowledge of products and services offered, competition, industry trends, and client base in their territory and surrounding territories
  • Accurately gather measurements and dimensions of doors & project work during site visits.
  • Provide site and equipment knowledge, oversight and support to clients, installers, technicians, utilizing any staff as required within the scope of the job
  • Collaborate with others for industry trade shows and demos of products
  • Perform applicable research and analysis of data and information as it relates to project work for clients.
  • Establish relationships and collaborate with service and field staff to visit work sites, observe work in progress, assist in the achievement of quality results aligned to the estimates of labor and materials.
  • Lead based paint testing when necessary
  • Provide on-going support to encourage a collaborative teamwork environment
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Must have 5-7 years of experience in commercial overhead door, service, installation and/or sales
  • Must be able to read, understand, analyze, and interpret directions, plans, blueprints, manuals and procedures and write reports in English
  • Must have active driver license and driving record accepted by the Company’s Auto Insurance underwriting requirements
  • Must be able to utilize Company’s service and accounting software
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Lead-Based Paint Renovation License/Certification
  • Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to maintain composure under pressure, interact routinely with others face-to-face, telephone, and through other communication methods (written/verbal) using active listening skills and teamwork
  • High proficiency in multi-tasking, organization, time management, prioritization of tasks, delegation, and conflict resolution
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, units of measurements, decimals, fractions, computation of figures, amounts, rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs)
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and accurate 10-key skills are required
  • Must be reliable in meeting highly accurate work results, strict deadlines, and prompt and friendly service delivery
  • Requires working with others in a group or team and the ability to remain flexible despite interruptions and/or routine changes to priorities and/or job duties

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus while working on a computer or at building and construction sites
  • Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and must be able to use hand or power tools if needed
  • May be exposed to various environmental changes such as weather or excessive noise, depending on job/client sites
  • Ability to travel up to 35%-45% of the time, which may include travel via car, train, airline, or overnight hotel stays

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This is considered a full-time, exempt position. Starting wage for this position is $56,000 per year, depending on experience.
