Please note, this is not a multimedia, permanent install, information technology or film industry position. Only candidates with prior hotel audio visual or staging experience will be considered for this position.
 
POSITION OVERVIEW
The AV Technician is responsible for the execution of meetings and events in professional venues such as five star hotels, Fortune 500 companies and dedicated event spaces. Specifically, the Technician will coordinate and manage all logistical and technical aspects of an event as well as perform as a professional audiovisual technician on those events. The successful technician will demonstrate a high attention to detail and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Coordinates logistical process to ensure equipment pull, loading and deliver to event venue.
  • Manages self and crew to perform a processional and organized set with high standards to all artistic and technical elements
  • Coordinates logistics to strike event and return all gear in excellent condition back into inventory systems.
  • Uses professional level abilities in sound, video, computer, projection and/or lighting to perform high-level set up, operation and troubleshooting of audiovisual equipment.
  • Interacts with client on a professional level as all times.
  • Maintains concentration during events, anticipating problems and, in general, contributing to the professional operation of an event.
  • Actively engages with the company and its culture to create growth and profitability.  This may involve the completion of tasks such as R&D, new market analysis and involvement in internal business development committees
  • Responsible for maintaining customer relationships company-wide
  • Ensures all inventory is in good working order and rental condition and secure from theft or damage to comply with all Company security and safety measures.
  • Supports all technical staff and work with team members to create a collaborative team environment
  • Other duties as assigned
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • 1 year of audiovisual experience
  • Must be willing to work a flexible and varying work schedule outside of standard business hours, which may include evening and weekend hours to accommodate the needs of client events
  • Must have a strong general understanding of equipment and computer software systems for audiovisual
  • Strong professional written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and management team
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships by taking initiative in projects and client relations
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor under times of pressure
  • Must be able to work in both independent and team environments while exercising discretion and good judgement
  • Must be able to juggle multiple issues and projects concurrently, often thinking strategically, being flexible and resourceful, to meet client demands
  • Strong commitment to balancing Company values and customer service
  • Must be able to navigate and operate various design and office computer programs (MS Office) and system networks
  • Must be able to protect and maintain confidentiality of trade secrets and client data as well as exercise caution of sensitive or protected information
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The following capabilities are required to perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations that do not create an undue burden on the company are available to address the following requirements.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to use standard office equipment (Computer hardware and software, Phones, Printers, Scanners, etc.)
  • Must be capable of walking, lifting, carrying, stopping, bending and twisting up to 65-85 lbs

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This is a full-time hourly, non-exempt position. Compensation is based on experience and includes a benefit package which includes medical, dental, PTO and holiday pay for eligible employees.
