Position Overview
The Bookkeeper is responsible for supporting clients and internal teams by accurately recording transactions, maintaining financial records, verifying data, and updating financial statements as needed. This role manages the full bookkeeping process for multiple clients, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting. The Bookkeeper ensures accounts are current and accurate by utilizing QuickBooks, spreadsheets, and other relevant tools to track and manage financial data.

Duties and Responsibilities
The individual in this position is expected to engage in the following work-related activities:
Record and maintain financial transactions in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts for accuracy and completeness.
Manage accounts payable and receivable, including client invoicing and payment processing.
Process payroll and ensure timely and accurate submission of payroll taxes and filings.
Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with budget tracking and analysis.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Monitor cash flow and provide insights for budgeting and planning.
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and relevant tax regulations.
Assist with the preparation of tax documentation and collaborate with tax professionals as needed.
Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify financial data or resolve issues.
Participate in audit preparation by organizing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skill Profile
The individual in this position is expected to possess and exhibit the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Proficiency in QuickBooks.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Demonstrated discretion and integrity when handling confidential financial information.
Ability to prioritize and efficiently manage multiple tasks, client accounts, and competing deadlines.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
Experience providing customer service or working directly with clients.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles is a plus.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to work onsite at one of our office locations.
Job Qualifications
The following qualifications are required to perform the essential functions of this position:
No degree or certifications required.
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
Previous customer service experience.
Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time (approximately 80% of the workday).
Ability to stand, move, and walk intermittently (approximately 20% of the workday).
Ability to communicate readily and effectively, both in verbal and written form.
Use of standard office equipment including computers, phones, calculators, and printers.
Occasional stooping, bending, reaching, carrying, and/or lifting of files or boxes up to 15lbs may be required.
Vision abilities – must be able to effectively see within an office environment, which may include long term computer exposure, and to adjust focus accordingly.
Able to concentrate on a task or series of tasks for extended periods of time.
May require working flexible hours or overtime, including evenings and weekends during busy season (February – April).
The duties of the job are primarily performed in an office environment. There is some exposure to noise in the work environment, which is usually mild to moderate. This position is 100% in-person and ineligible for remote work.
