The ADA Accommodations Specialist position at Trüpp plays a key role in facilitating the ADA interactive process for our clients located throughout the U.S.  The ADA Accommodations Specialist handles the complete cycle of the interactive process and disability accommodation in ADA cases. The ADA Accommodations Specialist ensures ADA workplace accommodations are continuously monitored and aligned to ensure compliance with client policies along with federal, state and local leave regulations.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers involved in the interactive process, guiding them through each step and ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Handle accommodation requests in compliance with the ADA, including reviewing medical documentation, assessing the need for accommodations, and coordinating the accommodation process.
  • Maintains regular contact with colleagues, supervisors, health care providers, and other key stakeholders regarding progress and status of accommodations; assists in the resolution of any challenges related to the accommodations.
  • Conducts interactive discussions with claimants and employers, assists in answering/resolving any follow-up questions/issues and helps identify clarifications, when needed, from health care providers.
  • Provide tracking and administration through the full cycle of ADA accommodations.
  • Ensure requests are responded to in a timely manner and that leaves are managed in accordance with client policies and are in compliance with all federal, state & local leave laws.
  • Ascertains the specific physical tolerances and vocational skills needed for employment positions; makes decisions or assists case management staff in making decisions regarding a client's competence in performing a particular position.
  • Reviews the essential job functions provided by the employer along with restrictions/limitations provided by the claimant and their treating provider to confirm the claimant can meet the essential functions with or without the accommodation(s) requested.
  • Proactively maintain up-to-date understanding of multi-state leave laws and compliance.
  • Effectively adapt to changes in priorities, deadlines, policies or practices, whether the change is at Trüpp or with clients.
  • Consistently deliver quality, timely, accurate and useful work products.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office and other productivity tools.
  • Gain and maintain proficiency with various client HRIS systems.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and time-management skills.
  • Exemplify professionalism and a sincere concern for contributing to the success of our clients.

  • Five years' experience in Human Resources in a leave management or generalist related position, with a minimum three years’ experience in ADA/interactive process administration
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration highly preferred.
  • Requires strong proficiency in the use of a variety of software including Excel, Word, Outlook, customer service ticketing systems, and HR and leave administration systems.
  • Sufficient working conditions, including high-speed internet and an environment where phone calls and virtual meetings can occur without interruption required.
  • Applicants with ADA Coordinator Training Certification Program (ACTCP) or similar certification preferred.
