HERE’S WHAT WE NEED FROM OUR DELI MANAGER:
  • Relevant Professional Experience:  While we understand that the amount of time spent in a similar role may not be a perfect indicator of ability, we require that all applicants have a minimum of two years’ experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
As the Deli Manager, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Maintain and adhere to standard World Foods recipes to ensure all cornerstone products are being created in a consistent manner.
  • Ensure that all food products in the Deli case and grab-and-go items are displayed in an aesthetically pleasing manner, are restocked as appropriate, and that expired products are removed promptly.
  • Provide effectively leadership and oversight to Deli staff.  This involves working with direct supervisor, management team members, and HR to identify, address, and resolve any concerns and acknowledge stellar performance.
  • Ensure that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety are consistently maintained throughout all kitchen areas.
  • Estimate food consumption and appropriately purchase goods to meet that demand; periodically review to note changes.
  • Ensure that all health and safety certifications and requirements are current and properly posted; communicate with supervisor if certifications and/or documentation for certifications are expired/missing.
  • In conjunction with supervisor and Director of Operations, monitor and track deli budget; recommend and implement appropriate adjustments to maximize return on investment. 
  • Oversee the correct cost of all invoices and communicate variances to supervisor.
  • Monitor the inventory levels and shrink reduction; assist in rotating stock to guarantee freshness of product.
  • Monitor and ensure all PPE (personal protective equipment) is used every time it is needed.
  • Communicate department needs to General Manager in a timely, professional, and concise manner.

  • Be able to read, write, and understand English; bonus if you can read, write, and/or speak Spanish.
  • Use fine motor skills to grasp, move, and life items of up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, step up and down stairs, and climb ladders.
  • Be able to utilize fine motor skills effectively.
  • Be able to hear, identify, and respond to a variety of sounds (e.g. words, timers, etc.).
  • See at near and far distances.
