The Compensation Consultant role at Trüpp is a part-time, remote position that offers flexible hours and scheduling with approximately 15-30 hours per week. This position plays a key role in designing, planning, and managing compensation programs and structures for our small to mid-sized clients located in the greater Portland area and across the U.S.—communicating and coordinating on a daily basis with Trüpp team members and clients.

Essential Job Functions
The individual in this position is expected to engage in the following work-related duties:
  • Serve as primary point for clients to develop compensation programs, including providing salary and pay policy recommendations based on client needs and compensation philosophy. 
  • Provide consultation and is involved in discussions regarding initiatives/changes to client organizational structure and corresponding compensation programs.  Provide ongoing education to clients on compensation related topics.
  • Make decisions on appropriate approach to designing and developing unique compensation programs for individual clients.
  • Perform complex research and anlysis of market salary data and develop recommendations for appropirate compensation programs and structures for clients.
  • Contribute and refine the process of providing compensation products to clients.
  • Evaluate client job descriptions and utilize market data and analysis to deliver innovative solutions for clients.
  • Review RFPs and provide input and recommendations to ensure project scope is well defined.
  • Own and complete assigned project activities, including conducting benchmark salary and benefits studies, conducting job analysis, creating job descriptions, creating/updating job classifications, and other ad-hoc projects as needed.

  • Demonstrate expert working knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel and advanced working knowledge in PowerPoint and Outlook.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 4 to 5 years’ experience in a similar position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Human Resources, Industrial/Organization Psychology, Business Management or other related field.
  • Compensation experience required; consulting experience preferred.
  • CCP Certification strongly peferred or in the process to attain.
  • Ability to periodically travel locally; occasionally travel regionally and nationally.
  • Ability to occasionally work evenings and periodically work weekends, as needed.
