InRoads Credit Union - Controller

InRoads Credit Union is seeking a diligent, and knowledgeable full time Controller to join our team in St Helens, Oregon. This position comes with a full benefit package including a matching 401k.

The primary function of the Controller position is to prepare or assist with the preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies. Manage the tasks associated with financial planning, accounting, budgeting, procurement, or investment activities of all or part of the organization. Participate in planning meetings to provide technical knowledge and/or assemble financial data in support of organizational goals.
After training is complete, with the CRFO’s approval, the Controller may work from a remote location at least part time.
This role will require at a minimum a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or closely related major or 5-7 years of job related or similar experience including knowledge of financial product and services, strong leadership, coaching and supervisory skills.
A successful Controller requires an ability to demonstrate the following:
  • Excellent knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data as well as advanced mathematics skills. 
  • Knowledge of business and management principles, strategic planning, resource allocation, and leadership techniques.
  • Serve as credible advisor to peers, employ active listening and exercise sound judgment to influence and lead financial decisions.
  • Leadership skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
