Job Overview
OBI’s vice president for member relations and strategic partnerships will have primary responsibility for developing and implementing a strategy for engaging OBI’s diverse member community across Oregon, including specific plans for ongoing member relations, membership development and retention, and events.

Specific Job Duties:
  • Develop a holistic member relations strategy that serves and strengthens OBI’s diverse membership.
  • Develop and implement a membership sales strategy. This will include, but is not limited to: targeted strategies to achieve Board diversity objectives; developing and implementing a program to engage board members and other OBI team members in membership sales efforts; and identifying accounts appropriate for package sales.
  • Engage personally on some membership sales, meeting established sales goals.
  • Maintain and assess analytics measuring the success of OBI’s services and programs, including, but not limited to, membership retention and satisfaction; member engagement in OBI events, communications, and programming; and member engagement in OBI offerings including, but not limited to, HealthChoice and CompSAFE.
  • Oversee monthly billing and optional charges (e.g., PAC, Foundation) and personally handle billing interaction for certain accounts.
  • Devise and implement event strategy, including sponsorship strategy for events and programming.
  • Develop new revenue-generating programs that align with OBI’s mission and will help strengthen the organization.
  • Develop partnerships that will further OBI objectives including, but not limited to, outreach to businesses in all parts of Oregon and expanding partnerships with entities owned/operated by BIPOC individuals or organizations.
  • Manage membership and events staff.
  • Engage with OBI Board and provide staff support to Board members responsible for membership and events.

Job Requirements:
  • At least 10 years of experience in business-to-business sales or fundraising.
  • Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel in Oregon.

Location:
  • This job can be based in either Portland or Salem, but a successful candidate must be prepared to travel between both locations.
